Replacement of steel grating walkways on offshore oil drilling platforms
Cooperation Background:
The steel gratings on the walkways of an offshore oil drilling platform had long been exposed to seawater, crude oil corrosion and wave impact, resulting in zinc layer peeling and structural loosening. There was a risk of personnel falling, so products resistant to extreme environments needed to be urgently replaced.
Solution:
High-strength corrosion-resistant steel gratings were adopted. They underwent double anti-corrosion treatment of pickling passivation + fluorocarbon spraying, with a serrated anti-slip surface design and bolted fixation to enhance impact resistance and stability.
Cooperation Results:
It passed the offshore oil platform safety certification, showed no rust or loosening after 4 years of use, and the safety factor for inspection personnel was improved. Continuous purchases were made for the subsequent renovation projects of 3 drilling platforms.
